Overview
We are a boutique financial planning practice seeking an experienced, U.S.-based independent paraplanner who knows RightCapital inside and out.
This is an internal, non-client-facing role. We need someone who can build a complete and accurate financial plan, reconcile the plan to source information, analyze its current position, develop meaningful scenarios, and communicate effectively with the lead advisor.
Our plans may include detailed cash flow, retirement, real estate, education goals, equity compensation, and related tax information. Final planning strategies, tax analysis, recommendations, and all client communication remain with the advisor.
Responsibilities:
- Review client documents and advisor notes for completeness
- Enter client information accurately from financial, tax, and other relevant source documents
- Analyze the current plan and communicate its position clearly to the advisor
- Troubleshoot data, assumptions, and software output; resolve inconsistencies and reconcile the plan
- Work with the advisor to develop meaningful planning scenarios
- Adjust and refine the plan based on the advisor’s direction
- Prepare an accurate, recommendation-ready plan
- Summarize key assumptions, planning issues, and unresolved questions
Qualifications:
- Based in the United States
- At least three years of paraplanning or financial-planning experience
- Extensive, current, and well-rounded RightCapital experience, including data entry, troubleshooting, scenario building, and plan reconciliation
- Ability to work independently across RightCapital’s major planning modules
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including recognizing when software output appears unreasonable
- Solid understanding of cash flow, balance sheets, retirement accounts, and financial-planning fundamentals
- Highly detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to complete and accurate work
- Ability to communicate effectively with the lead advisor and summarize planning issues concisely
- Experience with RSUs, ISOs, or ESPPs is a plus
- Ability to maintain a secure business computer and protect confidential client information
Engagement:
- Remote, part-time 1099 contractor
- Approximately 5–10 hours per week initially, with workload varying by client engagement
- Flexible working schedule with agreed deadlines
- Compensation of $45–$55 per hour, depending on demonstrated experience
- Opportunity for increased work as the financial-planning practice grows
To Apply:
Please submit your résumé and a brief cover note addressing the following:
- Describe your RightCapital experience, including how long you have used it and the major planning modules you regularly work with.
- Provide one anonymized example of a client plan you supported from beginning to end.
- Explain how you reviewed the information for completeness, entered and verified the data, analyzed the client’s current position, resolved inconsistencies, worked with the advisor to build meaningful scenarios, and prepared the plan for the advisor’s final recommendations.
- Describe one difficult RightCapital issue you encountered, how you investigated it, and how you resolved it.
- Include your current availability and standard hourly rate.
- Please do not include client names or confidential information. Final candidates may be asked to complete a short paid exercise using a fictional client case.
