Overview

Read this first:

Somewhere out there is a person who catches the transposed digit on page 4 of a bank form and feels a small spark of satisfaction. Who hangs up after helping a worried 78-year-old feel calm again and has more energy than before the call. We built this job for that person, and we wrote this listing to help you decide if it’s you.

It brags a little, because we’re proud of this firm. It’s also blunt about what the work really is, because we only win if the right person takes this seat and stays for years.

What you’d actually do all day:

  • Plan for up to 15 client phone calls a day, mostly with retirees, many of them proactive outbound touches. Patience and warmth required.
  • Up to 30 client emails a day.
  • Several hours of paperwork or data entry virtually every day: Schwab custodial forms, transfers and money movement, fixing rejected paperwork (NIGOs), keeping our CRM (WealthBox) clean, entering financial plan data in RightCapital.
  • Preparing for client meetings, and managing the client service calendar.
  • Send clients’ money as requested.
  • Once you’re licensed: placing trades and running portfolio rebalances.

The split is roughly 80% administration, 20% finance, and 100% interpersonal. The same questions come up a lot. The work repeats. Precision on repeat is the job, and our clients’ retirements depend on it being done right every single time.

This role is for people who love the details and love getting them right.

This job is for you if:

  • You like both people and paperwork.
  • Helping an anxious retiree feel calm sounds satisfying, not draining.
  • You take pride in being the person who never lets a detail slip.
  • You want one great seat at one great firm for years, not a stepping stone.
  • You like clear systems, documented processes, and knowing exactly what excellent looks like.
  • You enjoy being part of a small team but can work independently.
  • You’re a self-starter and thrive in a multi-tasking environment.
  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific, Monday through Friday, works for your life long-term.

This job is not for you if:

  • You’re on the path to becoming a financial advisor. This seat has no advisor track, and we’d rather tell you now than disappoint you in year two.
  • Repetitive work wears you down. Much of this job is doing careful things carefully, again and again.
  • Phone calls drain you. The phone is a big, permanent part of this seat.
  • You want flexible hours, side clients, or a second job. This is a full-time, dedicated role.
  • You need novelty to stay engaged.

What you get:

  • A firm hiring for keeps. We’re a two-person team, and you’d be half of it. The founder built this firm to last and wants a teammate to match. We joke that we want this to be your last job application. Honestly, we’re not really joking.
  • Pay stated up front. $68,000+ depending on experience and licensing, plus bonus potential, 401(k) with employer match, and PTO.
  • The Series 65 on us. Not licensed yet? We pay for your study materials and the exam. Pass it within your first six months and you become the firm’s second licensed professional.
  • Remote, with structure. Work from anywhere on Pacific business hours (Pacific or Mountain time zone preferred).
  • A modern firm. We’re AI-forward: we automate what a computer does best so the human parts of your job keep growing.
  • Systems that exist. Documented processes and an EOS operating rhythm. You’ll rarely wonder what good looks like.
  • Clients you’ll like. Fee-only fiduciary work for pre-retirees and retirees. Our clients are here because they want to be and so are we.

The growth path:

This seat has a real opportunity for career progression, and it runs up the operations side of the business: Client Service Associate, then Senior Client Services Associate, then Operations Manager, and then Director of Operations as the firm grows. There’s plenty of room for learning and development. What this seat is not: a path to becoming a financial advisor. Plenty of firms offer that track. We respect it. We’re just honest that this isn’t that job.

Still reading? Good. That’s exactly the attention this seat rewards. Score some bonus points by including the phrase “precision on repeat” somewhere in your cover letter. No need to explain it. It tells us you read every word, and reading every word is the job.

The fine print, in plain language

  • Full-time W-2. 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific, Monday through Friday. You answer our phones, so we keep the schedule steady and predictable. And when 5:00 hits, you’re done; we’re not a nights-and-weekends shop.
  • Ideal start: Sooner than later.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Financial industry experience helps but is not required. Traits beat resumes in our book.
  • Series 65 (or 66 with a 7, or CFP®) at hire is a plus, not a requirement. Willingness to earn the Series 65 within six months is required.
  • Our screening is thorough: assessments, a work sample from the actual job, and frank conversations both ways. We’re careful because we’re hiring for the long haul. You should be too.
