Part-Time Virtual Paraplanner – Financial Planning & Tax Strategy
Gibson Monroe Wealth Advisors is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented virtual paraplanner to support a growing independent Registered Investment Adviser specializing in tax-smart retirement planning.
Our firm primarily serves professionals, retirees, and pre-retirees who need coordinated guidance involving retirement income, tax planning, investments, Social Security, Medicare, insurance, and estate planning. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the technical planning work behind the scenes so the lead advisor can remain focused on client relationships, business development, and delivering advice.
This is a remote, part-time position with the potential to grow as the firm continues to expand.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build, update, and maintain comprehensive financial plans in RightCapital
- Enter and organize client financial data accurately
- Prepare retirement income projections and distribution strategies
- Assist with Roth conversion, tax-bracket, capital-gains, and Medicare IRMAA analysis
- Model Social Security claiming strategies and retirement scenarios
- Review investment accounts, pensions, annuities, insurance policies, and estate-planning information
- Prepare clear meeting summaries, planning observations, and advisor recommendations
- Update financial plans after client meetings and as client circumstances change
- Identify missing information, planning opportunities, and potential areas of concern
- Assist with beneficiary, account-title, and estate-document reviews
- Maintain accurate client records and workflows in Advyzon
- Coordinate planning tasks with the advisor and client relationship manager
- Help improve and document internal financial-planning processes
- Support occasional special planning projects as needed
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of financial-planning, paraplanning, or wealth-management experience
- Strong working knowledge of retirement planning, Social Security, investments, and personal taxation
- Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive financial plans
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate work
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate clearly
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential client information
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial advisory firm
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience with RightCapital
- Familiarity with Advyzon
- Familiarity with Wealth.com or estate-planning review processes
- Familiarity with Jump or other AI meeting-note technology
- Experience supporting an independent RIA
- Experience with tax-focused retirement planning and Roth conversion analysis
- CFP® certification, progress toward the CFP® designation, or relevant financial-planning education
- Experience working with retirees, public employees, business owners, or high-net-worth households

Position Details
- Part-time
- Remote within the United States
- Preference for candidates available during Pacific Time business hours
- Approximately 10–20 hours per week initially, depending on experience and firm workload
- Opportunity for the role and hours to expand as the firm grows
