About the Position:

Astoria Strategic Wealth is seeking a Texas-based, Director of Operations to join our growing firm. The perfect candidate is resourceful, enjoys working independently, is enthusiastic about financial planning and is eager to always be a student within the industry regardless of experience level. This role will provide operations direction as well as support of our Client Advisory Team via daily operations functions. The key components of the role are to develop and lead operations functions as well as personnel as/if added over time, be the Chief Compliance Officer (or path to take over those responsibilities), client trading, and support various IT functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead operations processes and perform daily operations functions
  • Chief Compliance Officer (or path to take over those responsibilities)
  • Client trading functions such as rebalancing, investing cash, raising cash, and tax loss harvesting
  • Support IT roles and processes for our technology stack and integrate new systems as/when needed
  • Complete recurring operations tasks associated with the firm, clients, prospects and vendors
  • Coordinate the document and data gathering process with clients and prospective clients to begin the development or update of their financial plans
  • Help with client service requests/questions with a focus on providing a consistent and timely client experience
  • Explore/harness/integrate AI tools to increase firm efficiency and service level to clients
  • Assist in the maintenance of the client portal and third-party connections through our financial planning system (currently MoneyGuidePro) and portfolio management system (Orion)
  • Help create and update CRM processes (Salesforce) to ensure/improve firm efficiency and to provide an exemplary client experience
  • As you develop your skills, additional responsibilities may be assigned to you (licensure/credential/desire dependent)
  • Anticipate and plan for bottlenecks and surges in operational work flow and needs
  • As needed, research and implement new software and hardware systems and capabilities to support the firm and improve efficiency
  • Willingness and eagerness to support and interact with clients directly and indirectly

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, Economics or Data Analytics
  • Dedication to a high quality of work and extraordinary attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills
  • Exhibits advanced proficiency in technology tools and systems. Comfortable working across diverse technology platforms
  • Self-driven and disciplined to meet deadlines and multi-task in a remote/virtual office environment – MUST have an appropriate environment to conduct such work including high speed internet and work space to be able to focus without interruptions
  • Excited to take on new challenges and adapt to change; ability to prioritize work
  • Positive attitude and sincere willingness to learn and grow
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and other advisors/staff
  • Exceptional client service approach
  • Enthusiastic, friendly and pleasant personality that works well with a fast-paced, high performing team
  • Fluency working with Schwab Advisor Center (SAC)
  • Series 65, CFP and/or other financial credentials a plus

Availability:

  • Texas-based preferred
  • Remote work, Flexible Midday Core Hours (CST)
