Overview:                                                                                                                             

This growing and successful financial practice is seeking an individual with experience in personal finance to fill the role of paraplanner. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving financial puzzles behind the scenes and wants to have a meaningful impact on clients’ lives without necessarily being the person leading every meeting.

Working closely with the lead advisors, this person will prepare and maintain plans, handle meeting preparation, identify planning opportunities, and help ensure recommendations are carried through to completion. If you are a reliable, analytical self-starter who enjoys solving financial planning puzzles, takes pride in doing great work, and wants to be part of a close-knit team that genuinely enjoys helping clients, we’d love to hear from you. 

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain retirement and financial plans
  • Update client information and planning assumptions
  • Prepare Roth conversions, retirement income, Social Security, tax and cash flow  analyses
  • Review tax returns using Holistiplan and identify planning opportunities such as Roth conversions, charitable giving, etc.
  • Prepare meeting materials and planning reports for advisor review
  • Prepare advisors for meetings by organizing planning recommendations, identifying discussion topics, and creating meeting agendas and planning summaries.
  • Review client accounts and identify planning opportunities
  • Work with the advisor prior to meetings to review recommendations and discuss    planning strategies
  • Enter and assign follow up tasks in Retail CRM and track tasks through completion
  • Support the advisor with investment research and analysis
  • Look for ways to improve the firm’s processes and document procedures and workflows as the firm continues to grow
  • Coordinate with client service team to ensure recommendations are implemented

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Preferably 1-3 years of experience with an RIA or equivalent
  • Ability to read and analyze existing financial documents and spreadsheets
  • Superior technical skills and comfort level with financial planning software
  • Open to a variety of different designations but ideally a CFP or a CFP candidate is preferred 
  • Proficient in financial planning concepts, recognize/read personal financial documents, take direction and brainstorm with financial advisor
  • Must by highly organized and knowledgeable and possess strong analytical skills
  • Provide excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team
  • Self-starter who understands priorities and deadlines and takes ownership of work
  • Acts with integrity, honesty and enjoys learning and growing

Compensation & Perks:

  • This will be a full-time W-2 position (30-40 hours per week)
