- I received 26 job applicants to my job posting. And these weren’t just random resumes and cover letters. These were compelling candidates who specifically wanted to work with me! They didn’t just “mail it in” with their applications. They wrote compelling cover letters about how they specifically could add value to my firm. I would say there were about 10 candidates that went above and beyond the questions I asked in my job posting. Some of them took the initiative to reach out to Alex directly to learn more about how to position themselves effectively as a Virtual Paraplanner and to learn more about the profession
- Alex screened all the candidates and provided her recommendation for her top 3. As it turned out, I also had highlighted those candidates and we talked through which one I should move forward with. Since she had spoken to many of them personally, she had additional insights about the candidates that you just don’t get from reading a resume.
- Alex communicated with each candidate to let them know where they stood in the application process. She followed up with those who were moving forward and those who weren’t. Those that moved forward received an additional questionnaire that went deeper into why they wanted this role and their salary expectations
- Alex had me complete a Kolbe assessment and she had my top candidate complete one as well. Then she went over both of our results and provided advice for how we could work well together, tips for how to communicate with my new paraplanner, and pitfalls to avoid.
